Waltham Firefighters Battle Monday Morning House Fire

At 8:22AM on Monday Morning May 14th Waltham Fire struck Box 161 for a reported building fire at #161 Brown Street on Waltham's South Side. C-2 (Deputy Chief), Engine 1, Squad 5, Ladder 2 & Rescue 6 responded. On arrival C-2 called off with light smoke showing from a 3 Story Wood Frame OMD. Companies quickly stretched 2 lines into the building where after forcing multiple doors found a fire in the 1st Floor Kitchen. Waltham Fire Deputy Chief (C-2) Micheal Quinn requested a Working Fire assignment. Engine 2 responded as the RIT Team and AMR Medic 2 also responded. Waltham Fire (C-4) Deputy Chief Mullin responded as the Safety Chief. Waltham Fire Chief (C-1) Paul Ciccone also responded. Companies quickly knocked down the fire containing it to the 1st floor Kitchen. The building was charged with smoke on all floors and took some time to ventilate. No injuries were reported. 7-10 People have been displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross. The fire remains under investigation at this time.
