Accident at Waltham High School Seriously Injures Two

At 8:49PM on Tuesday July 10th Waltham Police, Waltham Fire Engine 7, Rescue 6 & C-2 along with AMR Medic unit responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident with entrapment into the woods at 617 Lexington Street Waltham Senior High School. Police officers 1st arriving on scene confirmed entrapment and reported multiple injuries. AMR Ambulance 2 was then added to the call.

Companies on arrival reported a car into the woods with heavy entrapment on two victims. C-2 (Deputy MacInnis) requested Medflight on arrival. Engine 2 was dispatched to secure the Landing Zone at the Waltham High School parking lot. Medflight was soon canceled due to an extended ETA. AMR Medic 4 was dispatched. Engine 2 responded to the accident for additional manpower.

After 20 Minutes companies were still working with the jaws of life attempting to extricate the victims. The 1st Victim was ground transported by ALS to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center with Multi Trauma injuries. With the 1st victim extricated the focus was now on the 2nd victim. Companies worked to extricate the victim while Medflight-2 was requested to the scene. Medflight transported the 2nd victim to Brigham & Womens Hospital. Companies made up and returned shortly after 10PM. The accident is under investigation by the Waltham  Police Department.
