Manhole Fire Causes Power Issues In Waltham

Just after 6PM on Tuesday July 17th Waltham Fire C-2, Engine 1 & Ladder 2 responded to 91 Crescent Street for a reported manhole explosion with fire. C-2 on arrival reported smoke showing from a manhole and Police were requested to close the street to traffic. Engine 1 arrived on scene stretching a 4" feeder to a hydrant and stretching two attack lines. Crews sprayed water into the manhole cooling it down until Nstar arrived on scene to begin repairs. Due to the manhole fire traffic signals were reported out at Main Street @ Moody Street & School Street @ Lexington Street.
